prioritized list

a lot of things in my life have been messed up in priority - and am working very very aggressively towards prioritizing things in my life, the big things in life - i hope i do it - at least i'm glad i'm thinking about those!

when i started this blog it was mainly to write stuff about ashna that she could read later at some point - however this ended up being my own space! So instead of starting another blog - one of my colleagues gave me a simpler idea which i didn't find attractive at the moment he recommended it to me but now the more i think about it - it's the simplest and most workable solution (thanks Vikas!) So I've opened an email account for Ashna and I mail her my thoughts - it's her account and she will read them at leisure when she grows up - there's just so much i want her to know when she grows up - the simple pleasures she gives us on a daily basis with her sweet actions. I also want to write to her so that she reads and hopefully understands the rationale behind some of my decisions which truly impact her life more than mine.

Weekends been great and it literally flew away - i managed to do some work too! Looking forward to getting back to work tomorrow!

i seem to have gone nuts trying to knock off items from my to-do list since the weekend. it shows a better shape today but yet a lot more to tick off before it starts growing again!
but overall - just loved my mood and the day today! may all days be blessed with this kind of craziness!

miscellaneous

it's a birthday and anniversary season these days. the first three months are full of birthdays and anniv's in the family - by the time the first cake gets over the next one's due. This year it's worse - in the two events over so far more than one person ended up getting cakes - we had 4 cakes for pa's birthday yesterday and 3 for our anniversary. I'm surrounded by aquarians! In addition Ashna decided that Ritika, Motudin and Fundoo (these are her dolls) all have their birthdays this month itself- so luckily they helped cut some cakes yesterday.

Papa - my father-in-law turned 72 yesterday - and we were doing a lot of hoo haa for his birthday as we do in all birthdays :-) Ashna was singing the birthday song the entire day and also playing the same tune for him in her melody player - but somehow he seemed a bit distant yesterday - he was in a very quiet mood didn't want to celebrate too much and i guess he just wanted to have a quiet day. At the age of 72 he few of the active persons i've known - he works with Ravi almost the entire day like 7- 8 hrs in a day and sometimes we have to force him to stay back at least once in a week and relax a bit. Even all other work - since the time we've been staying together rarely have i gone for grocery buying and stuff. He handles nearly everything so effortlessly. You just gotto tell him what you need and lo he's more than happy to help out! I think he's a gem of a person in every way - i've hardly known anyone like him!
I may be in a slightly emotional mood specially when i talk about him - but i'm sure he's the best f-i-l anyone could have and i feel so lucky about that :-)

ok Vini - over to work and the grind!

And love is a thing that can never go wrong....

But a word that's grossly misused!

OOOPSIE!

A young executive was leaving the office late one evening when he found the CEO standing in front of a shredder with a piece of paper in his hand.
"Listen," said the CEO, "this is a VERY sensitive and important document here, and my secretary has gone for the night. Can you make this thing work?"
"Certainly," said the young executive. He turned the machine on, inserted the paper, and pressed the start button.
"Excellent, excellent!" said the CEO as his paper disappeared inside the machine. "I just need one copy."

frustrating weekend

it's so nice to be back in office on this monday after a very frustrating weekend. am sitting here at work and don't feel like going home early today!

also am in a very strange mood today - was chatting casually with a friend at work and almost everything that i was saying to him had a "pulling-his-leg" flavor. i think he got really fed up with me - but luckily understood that i'm in one of those moods. afterall that's what friends are for!

english kiss!

Last night I was putting Ashna to bed and doing my routine koochikoo with her giving her a goodnight kiss on the cheeks just like everyday. She tells me mama please give me an "english kiss" and I began wondering what that is and asked her. She promptly kissed me - with our cheeks rubbing but the kisses in the air (the sophisticated kiss described in Page 3)
Firstly I was amazed that this came from her and the name for it was equally surprising. So I casually asked her who told her about this and learnt that it was her friend Chirag - another 4 year old who told her about this. I mean I always knew that someday in all probabilities a boy would be responsible for teaching her most about kissing - but give me a break I didn't think it would start at the age of 4!
